An Ode to Mathai Ma’am

Our class teacher, a constant from grade seventh to tenth,

Witnessed her inimitable pedagogy for a four-year length!

Sincere, fair, dedicated and always motivating,

Her diction was quite different, yet captivating!

Been ages, we may seem to have lost the touch,

Wish to express gratitude however more, it won't be much!

Settled in our lives, alas today we wish to connect,

Though owing to her old age, she may not recollect.

Beyond ourselves, we could have been more thoughtful,

At that right time, we wish we were more grateful!

It gives us thought to ponder, an all-important lesson to learn,

Life is too short to hold up, the bygone era doesn't return!
